Room-in-roof Insulation

Summary

Room-in-Roof insulation is ideal for properties with loft rooms or sloping ceilings, especially older conversions lacking proper insulation. The process involves removing ceilings to install rigid insulation boards (75mm thick) between joists, maintaining a 25mm gap for ventilation. Flat ceiling areas are insulated with mineral fibre rolls, while residual loft spaces receive up to 300mm of mineral fibre. Accessible stud walls may also be filled with 100mm of mineral fibre. Additional fire-rated hatches may be cut for access. This insulation significantly enhances comfort, reduces energy costs, improves EPC ratings, and mitigates condensation issues.
