What Do They Do?
- Trap still air
- Are an excellent insulator between walls and radiators, preventing up to 70% of the heat loss into and through the walls from the radiator.
- They help to distribute the heat output, which is otherwise lost, in part, back to the radiator, and by convection into the room, where the radiator is sited.
This is achieved by the saw-tooth profiling of the panel, which helps it to eddy the warm air currents into the room at a lower level, meaning the warm air temperature from the radiator does not have to fall, in order for those warmed eddying air currents to be felt by the occupant.
Cold spots are also reduced thereby increasing your comfort level in the home.
The application of radiator panels increases the temperature of water in the central heating system. The result is that you will use less fuel – 10-12% may be anticipated – reducing your energy bills.
